Description
This circa 1930 Baluch Oriental Rug measures 3’1” x 5’2”. It has a prayer motif containing three Mosques with nice domes filling up the mehrab and going into the spandrels. The center of the rug is filled with arrows in red, blue and snow white with geometric motifs. The rug contains six borders, two in tobacco, one of which contains a wave design and the other containing diamonds on a tobacco colored ground. There are two pairs of borders on a dark rose colored ground. One pair contains an ‘S’ motif and one contains an arrow motif. The final border is a leaf motif in light rose on a brown ground. The bottom and top of the rug in the selvedge contains evil eye knots. The ends and sides are complete except two spots as photographed on the right side which if it really bugs you I will fix. The rug is full pile. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $50.00.
