This circa 1950 Sarouk measures 10’4 X 18’0 (316 x 549cm). It has an overall design with no medallion on a deep red ground. The major border is an interlaced motif of blossoms large and small in tobacco, red and ivory on a navy ground encompassed by two sets of minor borders. The smaller is on an ivory ground and the larger reciprocal is on a rose to red ground. This 70 year old rug appears to have never been used. It is full pile. It has complete ends and sides.
