Description

This unbelievably fine and beautiful Persian Tabriz with silk was woven in the last 30 years. It measures 10’0” X 14’6” (304 x 445 cm). It is hand woven and has 400 knots to the square inch. The center medallion consists of a round 8” to 10” wide floral circle enlarging in concentric floral rings in mauve and very pale café a lait more lait than café! The final floral ring is in mauve all surrounded by a blue gray frame. The corners have a fabulous vase filled with flowers that spill into the end of the field that is ENTIRELY covered in flowers on a very clear ivory ground. The major border has repeating vases of flowers with Fleur de Lis on a mauve ground encompassed by two sets of reciprocating borders. The entire rug is encompassed with an ivory border with a sparse floral motif which serves as a frame for the rug and sets it off in a very spectacular fashion. Most of the flowers in the field are outlined in ivory silk. Probably about 5% of the rug is silk. This spectacular contemporarily manufactured carpet looks like a painting. It is very finely woven and in full pile mint condition. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $200.00.
