Age: 1940’s Sarouk
Size: 11’9″ X 14’8″

Description

This late 1940’s handmade Sarouk Persian Oriental rug measures 11’9” X 14’8”. It has a beautiful indigo blue field with a huge red medallion sporting bouquets of flowers at the compass points. The blue field is the home of many different floral motifs, not enough to be crowded but enough for comfortable living! The deep blue background gives the feeling that the floral design is floating. It has ivory corners with lovely floral motifs all encompassed with a cherry red major border with chrysanthemums and a meandering vine motif. There is an approximate 2” wide minor border with a floral design all enclosed with reciprocal minor borders with a flower and vine motif. The rug is 99% full pile with complete ends and sides. It has had fringe sewn on each end although the original ends are complete. The family I bought the rug from wanted the look of longer fringe. It would not be a problem to have it removed if you prefer. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping of $225.00.
