This circa 1950 Persian Sarouk Oriental rug measures 10’1” X 14’6”. It is a fantastically beautiful oversized Sarouk with an overall floral design on a tomato red ground containing a double medallion. The largest one is ivory and in the middle is a second medallion in red and blue. The corners are done in the same blue. The major border has meandering flower and vine in several shades of blue, ivory, a little pink and coral on a red ground. There are two sets of reciprocal borders. The outer one has repeated flowers on an ivory ground and the inner border has different repeated flowers on a blue ground. The rug is full pile except for the little worn area pictured with a quarter for scale. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
