Description
This signed Tabriz measures 5’0” X 6’9”. It was originally bought in 1960. It has a floral motif on a very pale almost ivory ground containing a center medallion with a pink background and a blue and mauve star shaped center. The corners are done in a pale blue green. It has a pink floral border with two reciprocal borders. The selvedge is ivory with five knotted floral motifs. The colors are so pale that there really is no name for them in English. When you lay it on the floor, it will pick up any color that comes close to what’s there and become a little more intense. The rug is woven using silk and wool. The foundation is silk. Silk is used to outline some of the images in a very sophisticated way. The rug is so finely woven that it is hard to count the knots, but it is approximately 750 knots per square inch. The rug is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $95.00.
