Description
This Baluch Oriental wool area rug woven in the first half of the 20th century measures 2’7” x 3’10”. The field color and motif consist of a dark red prayer niche with seven diamonds going up the center and seven triangles running up each side in pale orange. The top of the field consists of three front views of mosques: one with three, one with five and one with four columns. Along each side are geometric motifs which look like birds. The major border is brown and red. The inside border is a smaller version of the major border. The next border out has a yellow to gold ground with different colored diamonds. The rug is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $35.00.
