Description

This circa 1920 Art Deco Chinese rug measures 8’0” X 9’9”. It has an image of flowering trees on a rockery shading a pagoda which serves as the medallion. There are six groups of foliage, four of which have well drawn butterflies in the field. The corner treatment consists of a rockery with two nicely drawn flowering trees. The colors are shades of green, light blues, ivory, tobacco, camel and brick all on a very dark indigo ground field encompassed  by a three inch wide inner border in butter with a flower design and the Buddhist beribboned scroll. The major border is A very pale lavender to light grey consisting of pairs of orbs, one in green and one in dark blue, with different floral designs in the same colors as in the field. This rug is essentially in perfect condition. It is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $125.00.
