This circa 1920 Art Deco Chinese Rug measures 3’2” X 4’10”. It is a very nicely drawn oval rug. The bottom of the rug appears to be the base of a tree with roots coming out of the ground. Just above the roots a large branch contains two love birds cuddled up, one with brown wings and one with green wings. As one goes up the nicely curved tree there are many flowers in ivory, tobacco, shades of blue and aubergine. Going further up the tree at the top curve of the rug sits a single bird and he is giving the eye to the cuddling pair. The flowers continue around the curve of the tree back down to the bottom of the rug. The field is lavender going to purple color and is surrounded by a 3” wide border in a café au lait color. The rug is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $50.00.
