This circa 1930 Art Deco Chinese Oriental Rug measures 9’10” X 12’6”. It is a unique one of a kind custom made handwoven wool rug. The motif is fantastic. It looks like the bottom of a pond with blooming lily pads and lotus blossoms floating on top. The lotus is beautifully drawn. At the bottom of the rug are two fantailed bug eyed goldfish looking very happy. They have gigantic fluffy tails and huge black eyes. There are bubbles coming from them and rising to the top of the flora covered pond. The rug is in pristine condition. It is full pile with complete ends and sides. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $200.00.
*The overall shot of the rug looks more teal than I believe it is. At least on our computer monitors. The rug reads as more of a pale green than a teal to me. I believe the closeup images are more true to coloration but I suppose it depends on the amount of light in your room!
