Antique Turkomen Rug 1’4” X 2’4” #8096

Age: late 19th early 20th century

Size: 1’4” X 2’4”

This late 19th early 20th century antique Turkomen rug probably Yomud or Afghan measures 1’4” X 2’4”. It has a single medallion in the center of the rug in red, ivory, two shades of blue with a camel hair and reddish brown medallion that keeps enlarging itself from a green and brown center surrounded by blue triangles on a brown field. There are barber pole red and white borders with blue triangles, camel hair wavy lines and brown triangles and green and brown then red and white barber pole borders. Then red triangles. Then green, brown and ivory minor barber pole border. There is a running dog motif in brown on a light brown field all encompassed with a light brown border with a multitude of various five starred symbols separated by crosses. I have never owned a rug that looks like this and if it was 50 years older, it would be worth $1000’s. The rug is essentially full pile and in mint condition. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $25.00
