This circa 1890 antique Shirvan Caucasian Oriental rug measures 3’11” x 5’8”. This finely woven rug has a solid blue center with a lighter blue abrash across the middle of it and three diamond medallions in blue, red and pinkish. There is a very interesting motif inside the diamonds. All the borders are different. The inner border is ivory containing stars separated by a wine glass motif. The next border has a red ground with a very attractive design. The third border is blue with a nice abrash containing a very odd border with ivory stair-steps across a red X. I’ve never seen this before. The final major border contains various colored star figures in red, blue, green and yellow. The last four borders, two of which are plain, are very narrow, very much like a Kula. The rug is evenly low. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $75.00.
