This 1890-1920 Sarouk measures 4’7” X 16’7”. It has a very pale mauve field with an overall floral motif with 14 images going up the edges of the field that look like birds, but they aren’t birds, they are flowers and flower heads in coral and very pale yellow green with leaves in blue and eight floral motifs that look like bees. The inside minor border is a trefoil design. The major border is a meandering vine and floral motif on a navy blue ground almost black in color. The outside border I don’t have a name for but it’s very cute. The rug has beautiful soft wool and to be perfectly honest this rug is so confusing and weird that it’s almost like a magic carpet. I find this rug to be exquisitely drawn. It has the ability to take the viewer right into the rug into a totally different place. The more I look at it the more I like it. There are two very small holes, the size of a width of a pencil, less than 1/8 inch. The rug is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $150.00.
