This last quarter 19th century Laver Kerman measures 4’3” X 6’7”. It has a prayer motif on a café au lait ground containing a tree of life with birds sitting in a row of branches extending half way down the rug and coming to rest in the center of a large floral decoration containing two large birds at its base two white horses sitting on the ground. The horses are flanked by a man on each side holding a lamp. The rug has an overall very pleasant floral design in several shades of red, tobacco and blue. The major border consists of a floral background containing ivory cartouches which are saying a prayer. I’ve been told it’s a prayer to love. The rug has a very fine weave. There are a couple of places where the pile is starting to show some wear as you will when you reach 140 years old. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $75.00.
