Description
This 4th quarter 19th century Kermanshah Persian Oriental Rug measures 7’6” X 9’4”. It has a very attractive overall design with a center medallion on an ivory ground completely covered with a floral design. The corners are worked in various flowers in ivory, pale green, and rose on a blue ground. These same colors are repeated in the field. The major border has various floral motifs on an ivory ground. The rug has two sets of reciprocal borders. The larger pair has a rose ground and the smaller pair has a more open floral motif on an ivory ground. The rug is signed in the upper outer border which is a nice touch. The rug has evenly low pile as does every Kermanshah of this age that I’ve ever seen. The ends and side are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $95.00.
