This circa 1880 Kazak Oriental rug measures 4’2” X 10’6”.  The field design is the so called Cane design consisting of stripes with a meandering ‘S’ in medium blue, medium red, ivory, brown and green. Every second or third stripe contains a meandering ‘S” all in the same color of red and white. The first border out is a very beautiful green containing a motif which could be considered one of several things such as an anchor, a flower or a figure with its arms in the air and wide open eyes. The major border is on a golden ground. The outer border has a blue ground and it is reciprocal of the one with the green ground. There are five dogs tooth borders in red and white. The ends and sides are complete but fringe has been added at each end. The original ends are complete under the fringe. The edges although complete have been professionally re-wrapped. This rug is essentially full pile. The rug is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $100.00
