Description
This circa 1920 antique Hamadan Oriental wool area rug measures 3’1 X 5’9”. It has four medallions. Two in red, one in blue and one in ivory on a five panel ground of reds and blues. One medallion has a square dice like motif, one in the middle looks like a bird and one at the end looks like a wreath. The corners are done in a geometric motif. The major border has a leaf and calyx design in red, white and blue. The outer border has a meandering flower design. The rug shows slight wear. The ends have lost a few rows of knots. Otherwise, it has good pile and is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $50.00.
