This mid-19th century Flemish Tapestry measures 6’6” X 7’2”. It has a very nice woodland scene containing a lake with water lilies and cattails and various other flowers surrounding it. On the left side of the rug is a hen with two chicks and the right side has a male. Three trees grow up through the field. The one in the center contains a bird with a long tail sitting in the branches. The trees are beautifully drawn with variegated limbs and trunks in terra cotta, brown and green. Some of the leaves are in fall colors of red and yellow. There is a farmhouse in the background. The tapestry has a single wide border of very large intertwining flowers and foliage in several shades of red, from pale rose to pink and some nice greens on a brick red ground. The tapestry is in beautiful condition. It has a newly applied lining on the back. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance included of $35.00.
