Description
This antique Cut Velvet and Silk Tapestry from the 1st quarter of the 19th century measures 1’ x 11’ long. It is probably English but maybe Eastern European. I have no idea of the purpose of this piece besides to be lovely and it absolutely succeeds at that. It seems to have a repeated design but on closer inspection you’ll see that it isn’t. It was definitely made to be hung perhaps where the ceiling meets the wall. It was cut off at one end. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $35.00.
