Description
This circa 1900 antique Baluch Oriental rug measures 3’0” X 5’2”. It has an overall design of star shaped medallions in blue and red on a brown ground. The pile of the brown ground is top of the knots or lower so it must be dye erosion as opposed to a wear situation. The major border has the same corroding as the field. There are two sets of reciprocal borders encompassing the major border. One has white and cordovan flowers. The other set of reciprocal borders are repeated running dog motif in red. The ends are finished off very nicely with woven selvedge. The rug has even pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
