This circa 1920 Art Deco Chinese rug measures 6’1” X 8’4”. It has a burnt sienna colored field with two large rhomboids in the field and borders. One is the shape of a plum colored stop sign with a floral motif. The other blue rhomboid is a little bigger with a butterfly and floral motif. The lower left of the rug contains a beautifully drawn long tailed bird perched on a planter out of which sprouts a floral motif going up to the top corner of the rug. The lavender to grey colored border contains birds, butterflies and floral decorations in three shades of blue, lavender, purple, and black which weaves in and out of the border into the field.
