Description
This circa 1925 Art Deco Chinese Oriental rug measures 9’0” X 11’7”. It has a deep plum red field (there is no English word for this color, it’s a mixture of deep wine red, plum and purple) containing a green wreath as a center medallion filled with flowers in blue, purple, ivory and yellow. In the body of the wreath are clouds in purple, lavender, yellow and green hanging over a house coming from a rock formation with flowers growing out of it. The field has a very beautiful multicolored flower design with a tall Greek urn on a table in the lower right corner. In the upper right corner there are two butterflies chasing each other. One border has a lazy ‘S’ design in light and medium blue. The outer border is in a beautiful yellow gold. The carpet shows some wear in the lower left corner and the upper right and left corner. This is very well photographed. The rug is strikingly beautiful. In perfect condition, it would be in a $10,000 range with this minor wear the price reduces to $4000. The rug is clean and ready to go. The shipping with insurance is $225.00.
