This circa 1900 Peking Chinese antique Oriental Rug measures 9’3” X 11’8” (283 x 359 cm). It has a dark blue field with a center medallion composed of Shou symbol (long life) circled by a wreath consisting of a teapot, a fish, a wheel of life and an endless knot. The ground motif consists of sprigs of leafs, bunches of flowers, flowers in pots and flowers in urns all of which are very small and impart a feeling of extreme peace and serenity. The corners are done with one large ivory blossom out of which are coming small blossoms and leafs in an almost geometric precision. There is a 4 inch wide small minor border with meandering vines and flower motif. The major border is wider with a flower and vine motif. The whole thing is encompassed by a navy blue solid border. The rug is in absolutely perfect mint condition. It is approximately 125 years old and would complement any room. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $150.
