This circa 1900 Peking Chinese Oriental Rug measures 4’0” round (122 cm). The field is a very pale brown to gray and the border of the rug is a darker shade of the same color. It has a very cute motif. There is a little bald Chinaman sitting on the bank of a river or lake in the shade of a willow tree with his line in the water. The current in the water feature is delineated by wavy lines. At the top of the rug is a combination of wavy lines and flowers in pink, two shades of blue and peach. Across from the little fisherman is a pointed rock shaded by a tree with various colored blossoms coming out of it along with long arching leafs. There is also a cute fat little bird fluttering around. This rug is in excellent condition. It is full pile. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $35.
