This circa 1915 antique Kashan Persian carpet measures 8’7” X 11’6” (265 x 353 cm). It has a red pulled medallion inside which is an ivory medallion, inside of that is a light blue medallion all on a medium blue ground. The corners are done in the same red and blue as the medallion and the field. All is done in a very complicated floral motif. Very Kashan looking. The border is done in a flower motif in cartouches. The border is the same red as the medallion and the corners. The colors in this tour de force are three shades of red, very pale pink, three shades of blue, green, tobacco and ivory. The rug is extraordinarily elegant and for its age essentially perfect. The kork wool is very soft, pliable and lovely. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $150.00.
