Description
This circa 1890 Peking Chinese Oriental Rug measures 2’7” x 5’2” (82 x 158 cm). It has a very pleasant medium blue ground with a blue abrash about one third of the way down. A ménage of water plants and a duck occupy the center of the rug. The duck looks to me like its preparing to be Peking duck ! The major border consists of flower sprays in blue and brown on an ivory ground completing this very soothing image. The rug is full pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $50.
