This first half 19th century Karabaugh antique Oriental Rug runner measures 3’5”  X 16’2” ( 106 x 494 cm). It has a really lovely Minekani design. The flowers are done in tobacco, various shades of red, yellow, aubergine, blue, sky blue and green all connected with a lattice work in sky blue and pale green. There is one small quadruped on the side. All is on a black ground which I have every reason to believe is a natural color wool undyed, with a couple of places of abrash blue. The spandrels at both ends are flower head and acanthus leaf designs on a latticework of yellow and green on an ivory ground. The major border is a medium blue ground containing a large meandering line in red with stylized birds on the line which serves as a three sided cartouche for a small floral motif. The small reciprocals are rust colored containing crosses, stylized birds and floral motifs. As far as I’m concerned, it is essentially perfect. The rug has complete ends and sides. It is clean and ready to go.  The buyer pays the shipping which includes insurance of $100.00
