This circa 1925 Mandarin Art Deco Chinese rug measures 7’9” x 9’9” ( 240 x 301 cm). It has a gold colored field, the same color as a gold coin. There is a beautiful vase of flowers in the center on a three legged stool that serves as the medallion. Butterflies flank it east and west. There is an arc of flowers with birds sitting in them north and south of the medallion. The colors are purple, three shades of blue and gold. The field is surrounded by a minor border in Prussian blue containing emerging butterflies. The major border is indigo blue with six sparse floral motifs which run into the field. The rug is full pile. Fringe has been added to both ends which may easily be removed. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping including insurance of $125.
