This circa 1920 Mandarin Chinese Art Deco Oriental Rug measures 10’0” X 13’3” (304 x 405 cm). It has a yellow gold field with a floral motif in purple, three shades of blue, maroon, black and touches of green. The motif comes in from the border winding through the field with beautifully drawn birds perched in the branches. There is a butterfly in two shades of blue, coral, maroon and black. There is a worn spot 2 knots wide and 20 inches long running up the fold line in the middle. Not a big deal. There is a worn area the size of two fingers in the middle of the maroon flower. The entire rug is encompassed with two borders. One in royal blue which contains two hash marks and a major dark blue border which contains flowers, coins, butterflies and a flowering potted plant on a small four legged stool. Even with the small area of wear this rug is 99.5% full pile and in the finest Manchester wools. The ends and sides are complete. The rug is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $200.
