This circa 1915 Peking Chinese Oriental rug measures 9’1” X 11’6” (277 x 353 cm). It has a center medallion consisting of a wreath of flowers and Greek key design surrounding a blue vase with a pink carnation. It has two blue urns on a table with flowers and to brown urns not on tables with flowers. There are four sprigs of flowers, one in each quadrant and four nicely drawn butterflies, one in each quadrant. Everything is done in three shades of blue, pink, coral and brown. The corners are worked in a very lovely floral motif and all this action is happening on a very rich golden sand colored ground. Very very pretty. All is encompassed with a minor border of fish, bats and floral decorations on a light blue ground surrounded by a major border with cartouches in the same color as the field with butterflies and flowers separated with a meandering vine and flower design. This rug is full pile. It has complete ends and sides. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping including insurance of $150.
