Description
This last quarter 19th century antique Serapi Persian Oriental Carpet measures 9’5” X 13’4” (289 x 406 cm). It is really beautifully drawn and the colors are out of this world! The field is terra cotta to rust and beautifully abrashed. It contains a large geometric pulled medallion in light green and three shades of blue, one of which is a beautiful sky blue and shrimp. The rug has very large ivory corners in the same colors. The major border is a variation of the turtle design with serrated leaf and flowers. The field colors of ivory, terra cotta, shrimp and light blue are continued into the border which is on a dark blue ground. The two reciprocal minor borders are a variation of the tulip motif. This carpet has beautiful even pile. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance $200.00.
