Description
This 1st quarter 20th century Mahal antique persian Oriental Carpet measures 5’0” X 10’2” (152 x 310 cm). The field motif is a very complicated Herati design on a blue ground. The complication comes in with the 15 rows of diamonds on top of the Herati design in very pale green, all encompassed with a major border of turtle motif in ivory and camel on a terra cotta ground. The major border is enclosed by a reciprocal ivory border of flower heads. The rug has slight wear, nothing to be nervous about. The ends and sides are complete. It is clean and ready to go.
