Description
This antique Quashki Persian Oriental Carpet dated 1874 measures 4’2” X 6’5” (128 x 198 cm). This is the finest woven Quashki I have ever seen. It has a very intricate Herati design on a navy blue ground with a rust red diamond medallion containing writing and a date of 1874. Triangles from the border going into the field are filled with flowers in ivory, rust, and pistachio green. The major border has a meandering vine and flower design on a pistachio green ground. It has two reciprocal borders of flowers and vines on a terra-cotta ground. The inner border has flower heads on an ivory ground. All the pistachio green in the rug is eroded giving further evidence of the age of this rug. This rug has a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 216. This rug has complete ends and sides. The rug is 99% full pile. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $75.00
