Description
This mid 19th century Pao Tao measures 4’6” x 6’9’. It has an Imperial coral field with a crane with wings spread serving as a center medallion surrounded by cloud and bat motifs. At each end going towards the center is a four legged table holding a blue planter containing two flowering trees , one in blue and one in ivory. The corners are worked in a Chinese fretwork design with chrysanthemums. The inner minor border is Greek key on a blue ground. The next border out has a pomegranate ground with a scrolling flower and vine motif. The major border, which also has a pomegranate ground, contains cartouches with various flower forms. The rug is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping with insurance of $75.
