This circa 1920 Persian Sarouk antique Oriental Rug measures 12’0’ x 13’9”. It has an overall design very reminiscent of a Kashan. The motif consists of flowers and vines done in dark gold, three shades of blue and rose all on a medium maroon ground. It has a dark blue major border consisting of flower and meandering vine motif in the same colors as the field. All is encompassed with two reciprocal borders with large red flowers connected by meandering vine and flowers all on a yellow ivory ground. The rug is essentially full pile.
