This circa 1900 Peking Chinese Oriental rug measures 8’0” x 9’7”. It has lustrous velvety wool. There is a central medallion of vines and flowers surrounded by sprigs of flowers containing bluebirds, all on an ivory ground. It has a minor border of scrolling vines with grapes on a copper ground. The major border is medium blue with large ivory flower heads connected with meandering vines.
