This circa 1910 Peking weave Art Deco Chinese design Oriental rug measures 8’ 11” x 11’ 9 “ (277 x 362 cm). This carpet is a veritable dreamscape. The chocolate brown field is essentially covered in wisteria coming from the top of the rug downward and lotus blossoms coming from the lower left corner. In the lower right corner is a wonderful flowering tree rising next to two small pagodas on the cliff side. The field is covered in birds and butterflies flying among pink and yellow clouds. All is encompassed with a well saturated pink border containing pagodas, phoenix birds, butterflies and floral motifs. The entire rug makes generous use of pinks, blues, chocolate brown, ivory and yellow and a color that can only be described as silver and with touches of lavender and green. The rug is 99.9% full pile. The ends and sides are complete. The rug is clean and ready to go. The buyer pays the shipping of $150.
