This circa 1925 Art Deco Chinese rug measures 3’1” x 5’0”. If is a very active scene with a pre-Peking duck flying into a lake in the upper left corner. There is a cute little hump back bridge connecting two islets , one with a pagoda and the other with a nice rockery and garden. In the background there are two majestic peaks topped with clouds. There is a large flowering tree growing in the mid-foreground. There are cracking waves on the banks where a pagoda sits in the lower foreground with two small boats in the lake. There is a great sense of action with the foliage and trees which seem to be moving with an invisible wind (aren’t they all?). There is a very interesting five lined three color angular border, all on a black ground. This rug is in mint condition. The buyer pays the shipping of $50.
