This circa 1920 antique Khotan rug measures 5 ‘10” x 9’ 0 “. It has a fantastically drawn scene of a house on the water with a lovely tiled roof sitting among a grove of trees. A boat under sail is going by with two men aboard, heading downstream to the sea. There is a large lighthouse in the background. What is the most beautiful and unexpected is the sky. The clouds are catching the sun in the most glorious and fantastic manner with yellows, golds, and purples filling the upper field serving as a magnificent backdrop to this rural scene.
